Best practice in hand dish washing
According to Food Standards Australia and New Zealand, food businesses must use a cleaning process that ensures that utensils or food contact surfaces look clean, feel clean, and smell clean. For effective cleaning, the following factors should be considered:
- Use Warm to hot water.
- Use Detergents appropriate for the task.
- Detergents containing sanitisers are not required – If such a detergent is used, the manufacturer’s advice should be sought on whether it the product can clean and sanitise to the required standard.
