Get ready for a crash course on the most exciting part of the hand washing experience, the hand towel.
First things first, there are 3 kinds
Interleave – The ones that come in the rectangular packets and are tucked into each other so that when one is pulled out it pulls the next one to the front of the dispenser. You know the ones I’m talking about. More on these later.
Centre feed – Comes in rolls and feeds down through the middle of the dispenser much the same way tissues come out of a tissue box.
Roll towel – Standard hand towel on a roll, can be used without a dispenser or can be used on a wall mounted dispenser.
I use interleave, 3 boxes thanks
Not so fast cowboy, interleave hand towels come in 3 different sizes. All of which are available in 2 paper qualities.
I don’t care, just the cheapest one please
You may not care, but your dispensers will. If price is your concern you want the cost cutter hand towels in your correct size.
As you can see from the handy info graphic below, the 3 different sizes are 3 different beasts.
Using the wrong hand towel for your dispenser can mean 1 of 2 things.
- Either all of the hand towels will get stuck in the dispenser and removal will be less efficient than desired.
- Or when someone takes the first hand towel, the entire packet falls out.
Not efficient, not cost effective. Let’s get the right size
I don’t have a ruler, how do I know which one is mine?
Another easy way to tell. Go over to your dispenser, take one hand towel out. Open it up.
How many folds does it have?
4 folds (5 segments) – Compact fold
3 Folds ( 4 segments – Mid fold
2 Folds (3 segments) – Wide Fold
A safer bet, buy the dispensers from us as well.
We stock the dispensers for all 3 sizes in both plastic and stainless steel.
